Welcome to the Village of Linwood website! Linwood is a community nestled in the quiet, wooded hills of Butler County that features the best of rural living along with access to Nebraska’s major population centers.
Named after the Linden tree, the town is rich in history. Linwood got its start in 1857, when the first attempt to settle the area was made by the Waverly Town Company of Plattsmouth which built a house along the west bank of Skull Creek, a half-mile from where Linwood stands today.
Today, the small village is home to 88 residents and several businesses, along with a post office and volunteer fire department.
The Village of Linwood posts its public meeting minutes and agenda in an attempt to provide our residents with a resource to learn what is happening within their community.
Please note that the minutes are only draft minutes as they are posted following the meetings, but prior to approval at the following meeting. This is done in order for the residents to be able to attend the following meeting if they have questions or concerns regarding discussions or actions taken at that meeting.
Village Board Meetings are held the 3rd Thursday of every month at 7 p.m. at the Village Hall. Meeting Minutes are posted on this website within five business days. The Agenda for the next month’s meeting is also posted.
If you are looking for meeting minutes from a previous year, please contact Kathy Eaton, village clerk.
