December 17,2020 Reorganizational meeting

AT 7:00 pm the Linwood Village Clerk called to order the 2020 organizational meeting of the Village of Linwood Trustees she also stated that the open meetings act is posted in the hall.  Amber Phillips and Deb Johnson took the oath of office for they were re-elect to the board in November.  Those answering to the roll call were Deb Johnson, Amber Phillips, Josh Slonecker, Mike Croghan and Susie Matchett.  None was absent.  The Clerk then asked for nominations for temporary chairperson.  Mike Croghan made a motion to have De Johnson as temp.  Chairperson and Susie Matchett seconded the motion all were in favor with none opposed.  The clerk then turned the meeting over to Deb.  Josh Slonecker then made a motion to keep the banking, insurance, lawyer, accounting and supplies and parts with the businesses we are already have in place.  Any large purchases and costly repairs need to be brought to the board for any action to be voted on.  Susie Matchett seconded the motion.  All were in favor with none opposed.  A letter that was handed to the Clerk was read out loud from Trinity Tressler about her interest in the Linwood Secretary job at $200.00 a month.  Mike Croghan made a motion to reappoint Kathy S. Eaton as Village Clerk, Amber Phillips seconded the motion with all in favor and none opposed.  Will A. Eaton was reappointed by a motion by Josh Slonecker, Susie Matchett seconded the motion all were in favor with none opposed.  Jim Overton and Dustin Parolek were reappointed in a motion by Josh Slonecker and seconded by Amber Phillips with all in favor and none opposed.  Mike Croghan made a motion to keep the wage of $250.00 per month for the Village Clerk.  Josh Slonecker seconded the motion, all were in favor with none opposed.  Josh Slonecker made a motion to pay the maintenance worker $15.00 an hour.  Mike Croghan seconded the motion all were in favor with none opposed.  Josh Slonecker made a motion to pay the seasonal workers at $12.50 an hour.  Susie Matchett seconded the motion all were in favor with none opposed.  Mike Croghan made a motion to keep the trustee’s pay at $40.00 per meeting.  Josh Slonecker seconded the motion.  All were in favor with none opposed.    Mike Croghan made a motion to keep the pay for the chairperson at $60.00 per meeting.  Amber Phillips seconded the motion all were in favor with none opposed.  At 7:14 pm Susie Matchett made a motion to adjourn the reorganizational meeting Josh Slonecker seconded the motion all were in favor.

 

December 17th, 2020 regular monthly meeting of the Linwood Trustee’s.

 

At 7:14 Deb Johnson called the regular monthly meeting to order and stating that the open meetings act is posted in the hall.  Those answering to the roll call were Deb Johnson, Mike Croghan, Amber Phillips, Susie Matchett and Josh Slonecker.  None was absent.  Amber Phillips made a motion to accept the minutes from the November 19th, 2020 meeting as read.  Susie Matchett seconded the motion.  All were in favor with none opposed.  Susie Matchett made a motion to accept the treasurer report dated December 17th, 2020.  Amber Phillips seconded the motion.  All were in favor with none opposed.

Kathy Eaton, Clerk fees $230.87; Will Eaton Maintenance, $360.16;Pekny and Associates Audit Waiver request form,$500.00; Susie Matchett, 1 meeting salary $36.94; Robert Hermsen, burn pile $120.00;Lincoln Journal Star, legal publication in Banner Press $7.00; Deb Johnson 1 meeting salary $36.94; JEO Professional services 2020 $600.00; Mike Croghan 10 meeting salary $369.40; Josh Slonecker 11 meeting salary $406.34; December 2020 chairperson difference pay $20.00; Amber Phillips 11 meetings salary $406.34; BPPD electricity 535.71.

Josh Slonecker made a motion to pay the December 2020 Bills.  Mike Croghan seconded the motion.  All were in favor with none opposed.  The clerk read aloud an e-mail the Village received concerning covid-19 vaccinations from the Nebraska National guard.  The clerk asked the Lawyer about the Old dance hall progress.  The lawyer is still working on getting the names of the property owners.  Josh Slonecker made a motion to look for a different Village Engineering company and street superintendent for 2021.  Susie Matchett seconded the motion all were in favor with none opposed.  Josh Slonecker moved the adoption of Resolution 12-2020:  Signing of the Year-End Certification of City Street Superintendent for 2020.  Susie Matchett seconded the motion all were in favor with none opposed.   After some discussion Mike Croghan made a motion to pass the Village Audit Waiver prepared by Pekny and Associates, CPA’s, pc.  Josh Slonecker seconded the motion.  All were in favor with none opposed.   Will Eaton gave an update on the cleanup of the town from the ice storm.  The new grapple bucket came.  The next meeting date will be January 21st, 2021 starting at 7:00 pm at the Village Hall.  At 7:44 Amber Phillips made the motion to adjourn.  Susie Matchett seconded the motion.  All were in favor, meeting adjourned.
